We’re thrilled to announce our upcoming AI Tinkerers event in 28 days on October 29, 2024! Join us at Nedspace, located in downtown Portland. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your latest AI projects and engage in meaningful discussions with fellow builders. It’s fun, friendly and inclusive - the idea is to show what you are upto to find collaborators, spark discussion or just plain show off some technical and creative prowess. :-)

Things are a lot less frantic now (sorry for the last few events being hastily done) I am settling on the federal research grant and the “newco” will be announced soon. It’s all about AI in power grids with a Professor from PSU. May use fuzzy rule engine AI technology launched at our last meetup!

The new venue is awesome and well really really awesome. Big thank you to Faris Mubarak, the new CEO and leader of Nedspace. Faris has a vision for an AI Tech hub in town and will be talking a little about that and how you can get involved. (The views are freaking awesome from those offices.)

What to Expect

This meetup is all about demos! We want to see your work in progress—no pitch decks, just raw and exciting demonstrations of what you’re building. Whether it’s a novel application of LLMs or an innovative use of generative AI, we want to hear about it!

Tentative Schedule:

• 5:30 PM: Doors Open - Networking and Discussions
• 6:30 PM - 7:15 PM: Community Demos
• 7:15 PM - 8:00 PM: Networking and Discussions
• 8:00 PM: Close

Who Should Attend?

This event is designed for active builders, hackers and entreprenuers who are are deeply involved in creating AI-powered applications. If you are working on LLMs or generative AI and are eager to share your insights and experiences with like-minded individuals, this is the place for you! If you want to learn, this is the place for you. Join us if you think there is nothing you can offer but feel strangely compelled to get involved. **You usually are the innovator :-) **

Demo Signups

We are actively seeking demo submissions! Each demo will be approximately 5 minutes long, followed by a Q&A session. Please fill out the Demo Submission Form after registering for the event. Remember, no pitch decks—just show us what you’ve got!

Venue Details

Thanks to our venue sponsor, Nedspace, we have a dedicated AV theater and event room that is super convenient downtown with plenty of parking close by. 707 SW Washington St #1100, Portland, OR 97205.

Entrance is on the side of the big tall building, go up to the 11th floor and you are there!

Volunteers Wanted to Help

About 2-3 hours a month max if even that. Drop me a note even if you think there is nothing you can offer but feel strangely compelled to get involved. You usually are the innovator**. If you are a people person, throw your lot in; it will connect you to the brightest in this space and be useful for your career.
